Miss World Vietnamese 2007 Ngo Phuong Lan

Ngo Phuong Lan (born 1987 in Hanoi) is Miss World Vietnamese 2007 and first runner up at Miss Vietnam UK 2007. When Lan was 1st grade in Vietnam, her family moved to the U.S. (her father was an Ambassador to the United Nations) where she studied 1st through 7th grade in New York City. When attending the Miss World Vietnamese 2007 Contest, Ngo Ngo Phuong Lan is a student from Switzerland, where his father is the Vietnamese Ambassador to the WTO.

Ngo Phuong Lan can speak Vietnamese, English, French. In the question and answer part during the competition of Miss World Vietnamese 2007, she won the prize for the most intelligent answer about why charity work is often involved with beauty pageants, by saying that kindness is a beauty.

Ngo Phuong Lan has declined the invitation to represent Vietnam at Miss World 2007 due to her studies in Switzerland. Instead, 2nd runner-up Dang Minh Thu will now take her place. The decision was made by Elite Vietnam, a well known Vietnamese modeling agency.

Returning to Vietnam after many years studying in the Switzland, Miss World Vietnamese 2007 Ngo Phuong Lan is now working for the IOM representative office in Hanoi. She is also a MC for several English programs of VTV4. Speaking about the Christmas and New Year holidays, she is planning a small party at her house for relatives and friends. She declines to go into detail of her private life (boyfriend), saying there is nothing to say for sure!

Jasmine Pham, the second runner up in 2009 Miss World Canada

Jasmine Pham, who has a Vietnamese mother and a father from the Caucasus, won the 3rd place in the 2009 Miss World Canada beauty contest when she is just 18 year old.

Jasmine was born in Kapuskasing in a small village in the province of Ontario, Canada. Her mother is Debra Pham of Vietnamese origin.

Jasmine Pham is still at school but will soon start at Waterloo University. After finishing, she plans to keep on studying and become a skin specialist as she dreams of opening a consulting-room and a spa.

She actively takes part in community activities such as her local choir, volunteers for local events and tutors children. She is very interested in music and plays the piano very well. She also likes to play volleyball, basketball and baseball.

She is fond of travelling and has visited Vietnam Hong Kong, Alaska, the Bahamas and Cuba. She has recently returned to Vietnam to visit relatives and says she’s always proud of her origin.

The beauty queen title was awarded to Lena Yanbing Ma, a model cum singer from North York in Ontario, who will represent Canada at the Miss World held in Johannesburg, South Africa in December this year.
